Forestry Commission: Install a car park in Parish Lane, Pease Pottage - Sign the Petition!
Update 6-Sep-14:
Sorry for the delay in updating this, but planning permission was granted some months ago for a flooding overflow construction scheme for the lake in Parish Lane next to Crawley Angling Club. This will necessitate the lane being closed for perhaps 2 to 3 years to the public by car for access to Tilgate Forest. It will still be accessible to residents, visitors to residents, those who work on the industrial estate and visitors on foot or by bike. There will be dozens of earth moving trucks in the lane on a daily basis. I did what I could to stand up to faceless bureaucracies who are funded by you and I and are supposed to represent you and I, but the situation has been overtaken by events due to the flooding last winter which made the successful outcome of the application for flood defences self-evident. Henry Smith, the M.P. for Crawley, was very quick to send a letter to the Managing Director of the Forestry Commission questioning the present unfair state of affairs, so I appreciate his assistance.
Thank you all very much for your support and hopefully we can rekindle this after the work is finally completed. It will involve our M.P. putting increasing amounts of pressure on the Forestry Commission in order to bring this to their attention and to encourage them to do the right thing.
Peter
